Head women’s basketball coach Mark Trakh announced the hiring of former Aggie Erica Sanchez as the third assistant to the program. Sanchez played basketball for the Aggies from 2007-12 and was coached by Trakh during the 11-12 season.

The Diablos come away with their first win of the season, against the Amarillo Sox in a seesaw battle 12-8 win. Tonight’s game was the last of the Diablos four game series with the Amarillo Sox, in which the Sox took the series 3-1.
Amarillo exploded early on, scoring ten runs in the first four innings to beat El Paso, 14-3. Sox LF David Peralta was the biggest offensive contributor. He drove home four runs and knocked a pair of doubles in the win.
