UTEP Special Events announced today that they will host a new event on the UTEP campus as part of the Centennial Celebration of the University. The Glory Road Glow Run is the first of its kind to take place on the UTEP Campus. The event features a night-time glow in the dark 5K run that will start and end on Glory Road.

"The Glory Road Glow Run is designed to take all participants onto campus, highlighting all of the exciting changes underway from Sun Bowl Drive to the Campus Transformation," commented Dr. Keith Erekson, Executive Director of UTEP’s Centennial Celebration, "the best part is everyone is invited to participate and join in the Celebration; We are 100 years old and Glowing as bright as ever!"

The Glory Road Glow Run presented by GECU will take place Saturday September 27th, 2014 and begin at the top of Glory Road. The course takes you in and around the UTEP campus, past the new GECU Branch on Oregon and ends off of Glory Road in the Sun Bowl north parking lot with a big “Glow Party” at the finish line. Participants may either walk or run the 5K course and are encouraged to GET THEIR GLOW GEAR ON.

Crystal Long, GECU President and CEO, stated, “We are very excited to once again partner with UTEP on another exciting initiative. The Glory Road Glow Run is going to put a fun and fresh twist on a traditional 5K and we’re ready to show our UTEP Centennial pride as we support another memorable event.”

In addition to fastest times in a variety of age categories, prizes will also be awarded for fun such as best costume, best use of Glow and most spirited UTEP Glower.
