UTEP Cheerleaders Lock Up Bid To 2013 National Championships

UTEP’s cheerleaders had a great performance at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Cheerleading training camp in Las Vegas, Nev., from July 25-27. The cheerleaders secured a Gold Paid Bid to return to the 2013 NCA National Championship, which will be held in Daytona Beach, Fla., from April 10-14, 2013.

UTEP earned the automatic Gold Bid by beating all teams in attendance in the Game-Day competition. The team also took first place in the Rally Routine in the large coed division while having two members (Lamar Holmes and Tiffanie Navarro) selected as collegiate All-Americans.

The program has enjoyed plenty of success on the national stage of late, winning the championship in 2011 and finishing a strong fifth in 2012.
