UTEP Basketball to Hold Orange and White Scrimmage Saturday

Fans can catch the UTEP men’s basketball team in action for the first time this season on Saturday (Oct. 27) at the Orange & White scrimmage. The free event starts at 7 pm in the Don Haskins Center.

Doors will open at 6:30 pm.

The Orange & White scrimmage will feature 20-minute halves. The defending Conference USA Champion Miner women’s basketball team will be introduced during the 15-minute halftime.

Last year, eight players scored in double figures as the Orange beat the White, 73-70, in the first edition of the event.

The UTEP men return six letterwinners from last year’s squad that posted 15 wins in a rebuilding year and defeated the top three teams in C-USA. Saturday’s scrimmage also presents fans with the first opportunity to see newcomers Twymond Howard, Konner Tucker and Chris Washburn.

Season tickets, starting at just $160, are on sale now by calling 747-6150. The Miners' home schedule includes matchups with UNLV, Oregon, Memphis, New Mexico State, Nebraska, Oral Roberts, Marshall, UCF and Houston.
