World Champ boxer Austin Trout was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of public intoxication, stemming from a fight at an El Paso Taco Cabana. The 27-year old Trout was one of four arrested. Newschannel 9's Beau Bagley spoke to Austin this evening, he says it is a Class B Misdemeanor, but he was not drunk, and Trout expects it to be dismissed. There was a fight, but Trout says he was not involved. Trout hopes to have a fight to unify the Light Middleweight title in early May against Canelo Alvarez.
Alvarez (41-0-1, 30 KO) notched wins over Shane Mosley and Josesito Lopez in 2012, but Trout (26-0, 14 KO) defeated Miguel Cotto on December 1.
