The El Paso Striders have a ton of talent at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics in Houston this week... one of them is the group running the boys 17-18 relays... The group is full of talent, consisting of future UTEP runner and former Americas standout Isak Washington, Burges junior to be Dartez Hamlin, Andre Enriquez, Nicholas King and alternate Adrian Johnson.

Isak Washington said, "It's a great opportunity, all of these guys are real good athletes... They may think we're enemies in school track, but we're real good friends." Burges junior Dartez Hamlin added, "Every day at practice, we give 110 percent. And just making nationals is a big step, because in borders, we dropped the baton, and we didn't think we would even make it to regionals, and we still did."

As of late Thursday night, the relay team finished fourth in their heat, and did not qualify for the finals in the 400M relay.
