Top High School Football Teams: #2 Las Cruces High

Tuesday, August 28, 2012 - 9:49pm

The Las Cruces High School Bulldawgs count the number of State Championships as a hallmark of the program. Las Cruces has won zero in the last four seasons, and that's got to change. 2008 and a perfect 13-0 season was their finest, and they hope 2012 will change that. Las Cruces returns a ton of talent, led by their senior and BIG offensive line. In fact, Las Cruces comes in ranked #1 in the preseason in the State of New Mexico.

Head Coach Jim Miller said, "This senior class has been there, been there those years, some played a little bit, some got experience. It's been tough, so we're definitely looking forward to this season." Senior TE/DE Kamryn Dixon added, "Coach always says we have a bullseye on our back, now that they ranked us, but rankings really don't mean anything because we haven't done anything yet. The season hasn't started, and coach always says we look good on paper, but we have to prove it first."

7:00pm Friday, August 31, Las Cruces will host Chapin to open the regular season at the Field of Dreams in Las Cruces.
