Seahawks rally to beat Redskins

Monday, January 7, 2013 - 1:08am

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Washington Redskins 24-14 in an NFC Wild Card match up.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III re-injured his right knee and had to come out of the game in the second half.

Mike Shanahan and RGIII addressed the media after the game regarding the injury and why they agreed to keep him in the game.

"I talked to Robert and Robert said to me he said coach there is a difference between being injured and being hurt. I guarantee you I'm hurting right now give me a chance to win this game because I guarantee you I'm not injured. That was enough for me. I thought he did enough for us this year to have that opportunity to stay in the football game," said Shanahan.

The Seahawks on the other hand get to move on and play the Atlanta Falcons in the next round.

"We're very proud to beat this team. This is a good football team and they're on fire and the crowd and all that," said Seattle head coach Pete Carrol. "So we're going to take this next step and head into Atlanta, we'll have a full week and get back to business when we get back in town so we liked what happened tonight."
