Local 4's Beau Bagley spoke to former Socorro Bulldog Omar Quintanilla tonight, and Omar confirmed that he has signed a Minor League Contract with the New York Mets.

Omar started 2011 with New York, appearing in 29 games, before being traded to the Baltimore Orioles, where he finished out the year, but was not on their playoff roster.  Omar has a lifetime batting average of .220, and will likely be a backup infielder with the Mets.
