This week: The New Mexico State volleyball team hosts a three-match home stand this week starting with a Western Athletic Conference match-up against Seattle, Monday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. (MT). The Aggies then host San Jose State, Thursday, Nov. 1, before Utah State comes to the Pan American Center, Saturday, Nov. 3. Both those matches start at 7 p.m. (MT)
Radio Coverage: The Aggie Sports Network is producing 11 matches on KSNM AM 570 this season, along with any matches in the post season. There are no matches scheduled to air over the radio waves this week. Jay Sanderson is the new play-by-play announcer for NM State volleyball, replacing Kyle Doperalski.
The matches airing over the radio waves produced by the Aggie Sports Network on KSNM AM 570 in Las Cruces can also be heard from anywhere around the world on the Internet by logging onto www.NMStateSports.com. Just click on the live events link to access the coverage for a fee.
Television Coverage: The NM State volleyball team will have six matches on TV this year. The AggieVision Production team has the following matches scheduled to air on TV: Louisiana Tech - Sept. 20; UTSA - Oct. 11; Texas State - Oct. 13; San Jose State - Nov. 1; Utah State - Nov. 3.
Matches produced by AggieVision will also air on ESPN3.com (free of charge) and fans should check local listings for airtimes in their area. Fans can also go to www.AggieVision.tv for channel listings. The matches versus San Jose State and Utah State this week are scheduled to air on TV with Jay Sanderson and Keith Leupold as the announcers.

About the Aggies: The Aggies are 16-7 overall and 3-3 in WAConference play heading into week 11 of the 2012 season. The Aggies are hitting .227 as a team, while holding their opponents to a .160 hitting percentage. Four different Aggies have posted at least 170 kills this season with sophomore Meredith Hays leading the way with 360 on the year (4.04/set).
NM State runs a 6-2 offense, rotating setters throughout the match, with junior Ciara Brown leading the way with 5.83 assists per set in 84 sets played. Freshman Taylor Livoti has seen action in 64 sets this year and is posting 4.67 assists per set. Sophomore Maggi Jo Keffury has gotten in the lineup in 43 sets this year and averages 3.86 assists per set.
Juniors Stephanie Ziegler and Hannah Walker have been taking on the defensive specialist duties this year with Walker leading the team posting 2.84 digs per set. Ziegler is second on the team with 2.82 digs per set. Scott leads the team defensively at the net with 117 total blocks on the year, averaging 1.31 per set. Sophomore Gwen Murphy is closest to Scott with 54 total blocks on the season. The Aggies as a team tally 2.56 blocks per set.
NM State averages 13.13 kills per set in WAC play and tallies 14.28 digs per set and 2.71 blocks per set when facing teams out of the WAC. Hays averages 3.63 kills per set in WAC play and Ziegler leads the team posting 3.02 digs per set in league play.
The Aggies are 6-2 when playing at home falling to Northwestern (Sept. 1) and Texas State (Oct. 13). NM State hits .235 as a team when playing in the Pan American Center with Hays marking 3.80 kills per set in 30 sets played. Scott is averaging 2.07 kills per set at home and is putting up 1.30 blocks per set in the Pan Am Center.
NM State went 5-3 during the month of October going 3-1 in three-set matches, 2-1 in four-set matches and 0-1 in five-set matches. Juniors Desiree Scott and Lauren Loerch averaged 2.59 kills per set during the month while Hays tallied 3.69 per set. Defensive specialists marked 3.28 digs per set and needs five digs to tally 100 during the month of October.
When playing teams west of Las Cruces (Pepperdine, Seattle, Idaho, Utah State, San Jose State), the Aggies are 3-2. NM State has yet to play any of these teams at home this year but hit out-hitting those teams .212-.175. Loerch posted 2.90 kills per set against those team while Hays tallied 3.86 per set.
