Morris Claiborne Sidelined with MCL Injury

The Cowboys top draft pick in 2012 will miss valuable training camp after an MRI revealed the rookie had a strained MCL. Morris Claiborne, a rookie out of LSU, missed all of the offseason with a wrist injury and now team doctors say they expect him to miss a week of training camp.

"I'm just angry because I missed a lot of reps in the past. I wish I could have those reps back but I can't. It's just another minor setback that I can't get the reps that I need," said Claiborne.

Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan seems confident the rookie will make a quick recovery.

"You can't replace a rep on the field. That's going to be tough for him. It's a tough transition anytime you're a rookie but he's a damn good young man and I'm sure he'll get caught up to speed as fast as he can," said Ryan.

Dallas will hold their first team scrimmage in Oxnard, CA on Sunday.
