The stellar year for El Paso Community College (EPCC) baseball athletes continue with more awards and national recognition. Star 3rd baseman, Eudor Garcia has now been named the Division 1 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Rawlings Sporting Goods and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) 2014 Player of the Year. This caps off a week where Garcia was named to the national All-American Team and drafted in the 4th round by the New York Mets in the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft.

EPCC is proud to announce that Tejano Jeremy Rivera was also selected in the 2014 MLB Draft.

Jeremy was selected in the 17th round by the Boston Red Sox. This is the first time since 2005 that the Tejanos have had multiple players drafted in the same year. In 2005, the Chicago Cubs selected Victor Liriano in the 18th round; the St. Louis Cardinals selected David Phillips in the 24th round; and Jordan Lennerton was selected in the 41st round by the Milwaukee Brewers.
