Locals named USA Today track All-Americans

USA Today named their All-Americans in Track and Field, and two El Pasoans made the list. Former Burges High School's KeAndre Bates landed a spot thanks to the triple jump, while Franklin High School's Paulo Benavides earned a spot thanks to the pole vault. Bates is headed to the University of Florida, while Benavides will enter his senior year at Franklin.

Selections were made by Jack Shepard, high school editor of Track and Field News, and coordinated by Fred Baer, founder of Track and Field Writers of America.
