After becoming one of the top high school basketball coaches in El Paso in only 4 seasons, Hanks boys coach Manny Flores has announced his resignation. Flores has accepted the head coaching job at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio and will try to turn it into a 6A power.

The 1997 graduate of Hanks went 75 and 49 in his 4 seasons including consecutive District titles the past 3 years.

Flores described the decision to NC9 as bittersweet but thanked the Hanks community for all of their support. He added that he hopes his former assistant Chris Mora will be his successor.
