The 26th annual El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Banquet was held Wednesday, October 2. Newschannel 9's Beau Bagley caught up with former Major League all-star Mark Grudzielanek before the festivities. Tune in!

Here are the 2013 inductees:

Eloy Alvarado – Ysleta HS infielder on 3 district champs 1966-1969 & as a senior, All-District 2nd baseman; played for two conference championship teams at Ranger Jr. College & selected All-Conference as a sophomore; 2nd baseman & catcher for UTEP Miners 1971-1973; semi-pro baseball in Juarez for 10 years; head baseball coach at Riverside HS 1977-1983; in his first season, District champs and Coach of Year 1977; co-district champs in 1981; JV and varsity assistant coach at Coronado HS 1998-2002.

Alonso Beltran – Socorro HS pitcher 1989-1990; 1-5A All-District & All-City teams both seasons; New Mexico Jr. College set strikeout record in 1991 & 1st Team WJCAC All-Conference team; drafted 14th round 1991 with Toronto Blue Jays & pitched 5 seasons with Blue Jays farm teams; named to short season Class A All-Star squad 1993; ended minor league pro career with Double A Pirates team 1999; Mexican League for 12 seasons; pitched Mexican Olympic team in Qualifying Tournament in Cuba 2006.

Frank Castillo – Stellar pitcher at Eastwood HS; threw perfect game against Hanks in 1987; drafted by Chicago Cubs 1987; MLB debut for Cubs on June 27, 1991 against Pittsburgh Pirates pitching 8 solid innings; one out away from no-hitter against St. Louis Cardinals before allowing a hit & went on to complete the shutout on Sept. 25, 1995; seven seasons with Cubs, followed with the Colorado Rockies, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, World Champion Boston Red Sox in 2004, & Florida Marlins; 13 year MLB career with 82 wins & 1,101 strikeouts; passed away in a swimming accident on July 28, 2013.

Ruben Felix – Socorro HS pitcher/outfielder to include 1987 All-City Outfielder, 1988 District 2-5A & El Paso Times Co-Player of Year; collegiate baseball with Lubbock Christian, New Mexico State, Dodge City CC, Howard JC; All-Conference & All-Region Lubbock Christian & Dodge City CC; played pro baseball for 5 seasons in Triple AAA-A in both U.S. & Mexico; last 10 years coach and scout at every level of baseball including MLB assistant bullpen coach Cleveland Indians 2004-06 & Baltimore Orioles 2008-09.

Mark Grudzielanek – Outstanding infielder at Hanks HS with career BA .449 (1988-89); Trinity State JC (CO) in 1991 Jr. College World Series; drafted & signed 11th round Montreal Expos 1991; MLB debut for Expos on Apr. 28, 1995; 15 years in MLB with career .289 BA & 2,040 hits; selected to All-Star Game for NL in 1996; 201 Hits in 1996; NL At Bats (649) Leader 1997; NL Doubles (54) Leader 1997; Runs scored (101) in 2000; AL Gold Glove winner (2nd baseman) 2006; played for Expos 1995-98, LA Dodgers 1998-2002, Chicago Cubs, 2003-04, St. Louis Cardinals 2005, KC Royals 2006-08, & Cleveland Indians 2010.
