Diablos Lose Seventh In A Row

Josh Dew came off the bench and never even had to swing his bat as Dew reached on a wild pitch in the nine to lead the Wichita Wingnuts (56-39) to a 5-4 win over the El Paso Diablos (44-50) on Tuesday at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.

The Wichita Wingnuts pulled out the win thanks to a strong ninth inning. A sacrifice fly by Jake Kahaulelio scored Jared McDonald and gave the Wichita Wingnuts the lead for good.

The Wichita Wingnuts came out swinging, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the El Paso Diablos early. A three-run home run by CJ Ziegler delivered the runs in the first. The Wichita Wingnuts had two hits in the inning.

Kahaulelio put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Wichita Wingnuts. He doubled in the third and eighth innings.

Dew got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Justin Harper couldn't get it done on the mound for the El Paso Diablos, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The Wichita Wingnuts were sparked by Kahaulelio and Ziegler, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.
