Dallas Three Second-Half Field Goals the Difference vs Tampa Bay

Sunday, September 23, 2012 - 10:16pm

The Dallas Cowboys scored nine points in the second half, three Dan Bailey field goals, in a 16-10 victory Sunday over Tampa Bay at Cowboys Stadium.  DeMarco Murray scored the lone Cowboys touchdown in the first quarter, an 11-yard run which tied the game at 7.

Tampa Bay's Josh Freeman had an off day at QB for the Bucs, fumbling twice, though the Bucs recovered both times.  Freeman was just 10-28, 110 yards with one touchdown, but was also picked off by Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee.

Many credit the Dallas defense with keeping the Cowboys in the game.  "I can't give our defense enough credit, that was about the best I have been around, that's really exciting to see that," said Tony Romo, who was 25-39 for 283 yards.  Head Coach Jason Garrett added, "The defense was outstanding. Throughout the ballgame, they were put in bad situations, and they responded. They kept the big play... The playmakers under wraps."

Next Monday, the Cowboys will host Chicago on Monday night football.
