The Dallas Cowboys keep finding a way to win... this time it was help from new defensive back Brandon Carr. The former Kansas City Chief picked off Ben Roethlisberger in overtime, returning the interception to the 1-yard line before Dan Bailey kicked the game winning field goal in the Cowboys 27-24 victory.
The win pulled the Cowboys (8-6) into a three-way tie for first place in the NFC East with the Giants and Redskins with two games left in the season. Dallas has won five of its last six.
The Steelers (7-7) lost for the fourth time in five games and trail AFC North rival Cincinnati by a game for the second wild card spot. They host the Bengals next weekend.
"I think our football team has developed that mental toughness that knows that no matter what is going on in the football game, as bad as it may look, when we get to the fourth quarter, we have a shot to win the football game," said Romo, who was 30-42 for 341 yards and two touchdowns, passing for 4,000 yards this season for the fouth straight season. Head Coach Jason Garrett added, "It's just fun to be around the group, there's a relentlessness about the group, undeniable, I think those are important traits to have, and it's never perfect, never pretty, but guys kept battle in the units and picked each other up."
The Cowboys will host the New Orleans Saints Sunday. Attendance was 95,595, a season high at Cowboys Stadium.
