Tonight, UTEP officials confirmed that UTEP Senior Running Back Donald Buckram, a Walter Camp National Player of the Year candidate, was injured at practice today on Glory Field, and was carted off the field. The injury is an apparent knee injury, though UTEP officials did not want to speculate on the injury or the extent of the injury. Buckram is undergoing an MRI tonight, and the results won't be known until tomorrow. Buckram ran for 1,594 yards in 2009 to break a UTEP single-season rushing record that had stood for 61 years. He ranked third nationally in scoring (10.5 ppg), fourth in rushing yards per game (132.8) and 11th in all-purpose yards per game (170.6). Buckram had eight 100-yard games last season and enters his senior year as the Miners' no. 9 all-time leading rusher with 2,082 yards.
