EL PASO, TEXAS – The UTEP men’s basketball team’s game versus UCF, scheduled for this evening at the Don Haskins Center, has been cancelled due to the effects of a winter storm in El Paso.
“Unfotunately we have had some major power outages in the community,” UTEP Director of Athletics Bob Stull said. “We were concerned about having enough electricity to get through the game and keep people warm in the Haskins Center. We just felt like it was in the best interests of everyone in El Paso to reschedule the game for sometime in the near future.”
No makeup date has been scheduled at this time. Tickets purchased for the cancelled game will still be valid when a makeup date is set.
The Miners will play at Rice on Saturday at 1 p.m.
