Exactly two years ago today, at the age of 78, Donald Lee Haskins passed away at home. Today El Paso remembers the man affectionately know as "The Bear".
A man of countless acheivements and honors, he will be remembered most for coaching the 1966 Texas Western team that beat heavily favored Kentucky Wildcats for the NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship.
It still stands as the only basketball National Championship for the state of Texas.
