Baylor beats Longhorns, Cuse stumbles at Louisville

Saturday March 6- In just over 6 weeks the Texas Longhorns have gone from the Number 1 team in the country, to potentially falling out of the Top 25 in both The AP and The Coaches polls after a 77-92 loss to No. 22 Baylor.

Baylor's leading scorer, LaceDarius Dunn had 30 points and reserve Quincy acy added 24.  The Bears' defense stepped up big forcing Texas into 18 turnovers on the night.  Gary Johnson had 25 points for the Horns.

The win gives Baylor a first round bye in next weeks Big 12 tournament.

 

The Louisville Cardinals went out in style at Freedom Hall.  In the final game at the arena, The Cardinals handed the No. 1 Syracuse Orange their first loss as the top ranked team in the country 78-68.

With the help of an enthusiastic crowd, The Cardinals improved their tourney resume with a career high 22 points from back-up guard Kyle Kuric.  The Cardinals have handed The Orange 2 of it's 3 losses on thes season.

 

And in a battle of tw Top 10 teams, No. 8 West Virgina escapes No. 9 Villanova with a 68-66 victory in OT.

After being outscored 16-29 in the first half, The Mountaineers outscored The Wildcats 44-31 in the second half with 21 ponts and 10 rebounds from Da'Sean Butler.  In a tied game in OT it was Butler who hit the game winning basket off the backboard with just under 6 second to play.

Scottie Reynolds led Nova with 17 points, but missed a wide open 3-pointer a the buzzer to win it.
