Bidding for the Conference USA Tournament

On Tuesday El Paso City Council will lend a helping hand to UTEP and the Conventions and Visitors Bureau in hopes of bringing the Conference USA Basketball Tournament to the Sun City.

Council will give direction to both on how to present their bid package; but what does this mean for the city?

City Representative Steve Ortega said, "In terms of the economics our forecast projected about a $4,000,000 economic impact in this community."

If council agrees the bid will be presented at the conference athletic director's meeting held in Tulsa during this years basketball tournaments.
