The Dallas Cowboys didn't have a dominating running game today like they did a week ago at Baltimore, but were able to defeat Carolina 10-14 thanks to the kicking game. Running Back DeMarco Murray did not play, and Felix Jones had only 44 yards on 15 carries, while backup Phillip Tanner had 30 yards on 13 carries, but Dallas kicker Dan Bailey kicked four field goals, including two in the final 3:25 for the win.
Dallas improves to 3-3, and will host the 5-2 New York Giants next Sunday.
"You know, there's no games that you feel like you can just show up -- there's none of that. This team grinded it out today and we did the things that were ultimately needed to win. That was good to see," said Cowboys QB Tony Romo, who was 24/34 for 227 yards and one touchdown. Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett added, "So we're gonna go through this thing and we're gonna watch the tape and look at the things that were good, and we're gonna try to build on those. And we'll look at the things that weren't so good and try to correct those, and get ready for the Giants."
Receiver Miles Austin had 97 yards on five receptions, but a critical fumble in the second quarter that could have derailed the Cowboys hopes, but it did not.
"We did a good job of bouncing back and finding a way to win a game today," Garrett said.
