All it took was one visit to Albuquerque and the campus at the University of New Mexico for Q Drennan to know where he would continue his collegiate career. The senior QB at Americas HS pledged to the Lobos and Head Coach Bob Davie on his unofficial visit in June.

"I let the school know the day I visited. They day I took my unofficial, I gave coach Davie my word. I shook his hand and I'm a man of my word so I stuck by it," said Drennan.

The 6-foot-3, 185 lbs athlete picked UNM over UTEP, New Mexico State, Air Force and Yale. Drennan said the reason was that the other schools were offering him as a wide receiver and Q wanted to be under center.

"I'm going to be able to compete at the quarterback position," added Drennan. "Coach Davie, he's a really good guy. He coached at Notre Dame, he's a real football person so that's what I loved about it."
