Early voting in Doña Ana County remains about on par from four years ago.
There are several big local races on this year's New Mexico ballot.
One expected to drive a lot of people to the polls is the hotly contested race for District Attorney.
Doña Ana County Clerk Lynn Ellins says that race is heating up, "the Democrat, MArc Antonio has the registration numbers on his side, but the incumbent, Amy Orlando has spent lots of money and has the Governor's support, but the campaign has turned quite nast in the last two weeks."
There are also several hotly contested bonds and consitutional amendments on the ballot in New Mexico.
Bond C, which would earmark more than 13 million dollars to NMSU and Doña Ana Community College for capitol improvements.
