WASHINGTON D.C.— There's still no agreement between the two political parties, and now it seems the Democrats and Republicans can't even seem to agree on what to disagree.
Republican House Speaker John Boehner Friday morning said the biggest issue was spending cuts.
Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid said negotiators have agreed to $38 billion in spending cuts, but a fight over federal dollars for Planned Parenthood is blocking the deal.
“There's only one reason we do not have an agreement yet,” said Rep. Boehner. “And that issue is spending. We're close to a resolution on the policy issues. But, I think the American people deserve to know when will the White House and will Senate Democrats get serious about cutting spending.”
Without an agreement by midnight, the government won't have a budget to operate.
“The issue does not deal with the numbers,” said Sen. Harry Reid. “Good for you to try to switch the debate. It has nothing to do with numbers. It has everything to do with women's health. That is the only issue left undone when we left the White House last night.”
