EL PASO— Verizon Wireless has said they plan to add the Sun City to their list of cities that will be offered “the world's first large-scale 4G LTE network.”
Verizon will be offering Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to El Paso by the end of this year, and will also launch the network in Las Cruces in 2011. Verizon customers in the Sun City will join other wireless users in 40 other major markets that are also using “the fastest, most advanced 4G mobile network in America.” Verizon also plans to offer 4G LTE in more than 145 metropolitan areas by the end of the year.
Since its launch fewer than four months ago, the network said laptop users with the 4G LTE modems have had speeds ten times faster than the company's 3G network.
