El Paso, TX — The UTEP football team will commence its annual training camp on Monday. The Miners will practice in El Paso from August 4-5 before departing to “Camp Alpine” for a 10-day stay. Practices are closed to the public while media can film warm-ups, unless otherwise directed by UTEP media relations director Denise Mata.
There will two scrimmages in Alpine (Aug. 9 and Aug. 15) before second-year head coach Sean Kugler’s charges return to the Sun City the afternoon of Aug. 15. Camp will run through Aug. 29 before the Orange and Blue kick off the 2014 season by playing at I-25 rival New Mexico at 6 p.m. on Aug. 30.
The Orange and Blue will play host to Big 12 foe Texas Tech in their home opener at 9 p.m. MT on Sept. 6. Season tickets remain on sale, with a general admission ticket going for only $70 while a family pack (two adult, two youth, ages 3-12) is only $198.
