The UTEP softball program will begin preparation for their 2011 season when they open the fall schedule against the National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars “Back to School” Tour on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Helen of Troy Complex.
“The fact that we were chosen as one of 15 schools is an honor in itself,” co-head coach Kathleen Rodriguez said. “To have not only the best players in the nation, but also the best players in the world play on our field is very exciting.
“This is a great opportunity for our fans to come out to UTEP and see the best players out of the NPF competing at the Helen of Troy Softball Stadium. It is also a wonderful opportunity for the El Paso community to show their support and hospitality for our visitors.”
Tickets for the event are $7 for adults and $3 for children. Group rate tickets are also available for $3.
The matchup between the Miners and the world’s best is one of 15 selected stops scheduled on college campuses across the United States.
