El Paso, TX — David Rodriguez' record is impressive... 36-1, 34 knockouts as a heavyweight... but now faces a challenge after his first professional loss, a rebound to get back in to the win column. Rodriguez will face Raymond Ochieng July 18th at the Southwest University Event Center. Ochieng is 24-17 with 19 knockouts.
On December 14, 2013, Rodriguez fell to Darnell Wilson in a six round knockout in Atlantic City. That loss was actually Rodriguez first bout since December 2, 2011. That's a lot of time between bouts, but Rodirguez now has a new trainer with Herman Delgado, his trainer from back in the day.
"t's a Godsend to be working with Herman again, the mit work is really sharpening me up. We don't start sparring until June but I am going to be on track, I feel great." Herman Delgado added, "We're ahead of schedule right now, that's why the pace is kind of slow right now, we're just doing 10-12 rounds a day, keeping it nice and loose."
