West El Paso — Gun rights and open carry activists practiced their right to openly carry longarm Saturday.
People from across Texas, carrying their longarms, blackpowder revolvers and pistols came to El Paso to participate in the demonstration.
They say they're here to put pressure on legislation to pass more liberal oopen carry law on modern hand guns.
"Walking down the street, you never know what you're going to run in to," said Michael Keoughan, administrator for Come and Take It Midland/Odessa. "So to have fire arm in you, like I said, it's your right; it's your duty to protect your family."
In Texas, it's illegal to carry modern day fire arms in public.
The Come and Take It Texas organization led today's Rally. That's the same group that hosted the open carry rally at the Alamo back in October 2013.
