Taos, NM (KDBC) — A New Mexico police officer who shot at a minivan full of kids will not be getting his job back.
State police fired officer Elias Montoya back in December, two months after the incident in Taos where he shot at a van with five children inside.
Montoya had pulled the driver over for a traffic violation and she took off. When he stopped her again, she tried to take off again, and that's when he fired the shots.
Montoya appealed the agency's decision to fire him but that appeal was denied today.
