El Paso (KDBC) — It wasn't easy, but New Mexico State, (24-9), is moving on at the Western Athletic Conference Tournament by virtue of a 70-68 win against Seattle.
The Aggies trailed 33-31 at the break and had trouble stopping Isiah Umipig. The Seattle guard made 9-27 shots from the field including five triples to finish with 25 points.
New Mexico State countered with big Sim Bhullar who scored an impressive 24 points while also clearing 14 rebounds to record a double-double.
New Mexico State may have won the game at the free throw line where it converted 25-29 attempts, outscoring Seattle by 14 from the line.
