SOCORRO, Texas — Parents of a special needs child claimed their son was sexually assaulted while at a Socorro Elementary School.
The parents said the 9-year-old boy was picked up from H.D. Hilley Elementary School on February 5, and was complaining his bottom hurt.
"He claims that a man on the wall at the restroom," said the boy's father who chose not to be indentified.
The father said they immediately reported the incident to the school went to the hospital for an examination and claim they were told the boy was raped.
As is common practice after child abuse allegations, Child Protective Services is looking into the case along with Socorro Police and the Socorro Independent School District.
"If we have any inclination or we suspect that one of our employees has done something inappropriately then we will place them on administrative leave," said SISD Superintendent Pat O'Neil.
O'Neil said nobody has been placed on leave as a part of their investigation but the parents said they don't know what to think.
"Everybody says he didn't go to the restroom that day but nobody can explain what happened," said the boy's father.
The boy's parents speculate perhaps visitors but the school district does have a strict visitor policy and said nobody suspicious appeared on that day's logs.
The district said they will continue investigating and CPS is also actively looking into the case.
SISD said all employees must pass background checks and assure parents safety is a top priority.
The boy's parents requested their son attend another school and he has been transferred elsewhere.
