EL PASO (KDBC) — Two El Paso students are representing the El Paso area in a state forensics competition.
Sophomore's Isabella Sifuentes and Arlene Lopez from Silva Health Magnet High School won first place in the area competition last weekend.
The students had 36 minutes to review an autopsy report, police report, pictures and X-rays and then determine manner of death, cause of death and time of death.
"Honestly like I’m kind of grossed out by stuff like forensics but when I think of it like science and I actually do it, I think it's not gross anymore. I think it's so interesting," said Sifuentes.
The students will now go on to the state competition in San Antonio in March.
