The Consulates General of Mexico in El Paso and of the United States of America in Ciudad Juarez said that the Guadalupe-Tornillo International Bridge, under construction east of the Juarez Valley and El Paso, will bring a new border crossing option for passenger vehicles and commercial traffic for the Paso del Norte region once completed.
Officials said Thursday construction of the bridge on Mexican territory has begun and is estimated to be completed in July 2014.
As we’ve reported the American side is finished, and port inspection booths are nearly complete. The bridge will have six lanes, three in each direction, and inspection facilities. Officials said the port should be up and running by the second half of 2014.
