NMSP: Alleged shooter in custody; Unknown injuries at the school
Roswell, NM (KDBC) — A Roswell Middle School is on lockdown after a shooting Tuesday morning.
New Mexico State Police and local law enforcement rushed to the Berrendo Middle School shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. Law enforcement officials say there are preliminary reports of injuries, although the extent of those injuries is unknown.
According to the Roswell Police Department Facebook page the shooter was apprehended at Berrendo Middle School this morning.
According to a NMSP release, the threat "has been alleviated and this incident is being investigated."
NMSP and Roswell ISD officials say the children are being bused to Roswell Mall, where parents canc pick them up.
