Soul legend Tina Turner has given up her U.S. Citizenship. That's according to an activity report from the U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland. Turner has lived in Switzerland for nearly 20 years and in July she married her long-time boyfriend.
The activity report says she signed a statement waiving her U.S. citizenship last month. It also says she's fluent in German and doesn't have any strong ties to the U.S. anymore, except for family members. She also has no plans to live in the U.S. in the future.
Turner, who retired from concert performances in 2009, took the oath of Swiss Nationality in April. She turns 74 in a couple of weeks.
