SOCORRO, Texas (KDBC) — Police were investigating after a woman in her 20s was killed in a car wreck in Socorro Tuesday night.
They said she was driving eastbound on Socorro Road at about 7:45 p.m. and tried to make a right turn on Glorietta Road at a high rate of speed. She lost control of the car; hit an object and the car rolled over, police said.
She died on the scene.
Police believe speed is a factor in the wreck. They said the woman was not wearing a seatbelt and she was the only person in the car.
Police have not released the victim's identity.
Police closed Socorro and Glorietta Roads near the car wreck for several hours during their investigation.
