New Mexico State Police have identified the motorcyclist killed this weekend on the Anthony Gap as Lorenzo Chavarria, 32.
Police said Chavarria was riding his bike with a group of motorcyclists Saturday afternoon.
They said as the group started passing a van, the driver slammed on the brakes causing Chavarria to slam on his. He lost control of his bike and slammed his head on the road. Police said he was taken to UMC where he died Sunday.
The crash is under investigation. It's unknown if the driver of the van will be facing any charges.
