El Paso, Texas (KDBC) — The last leg of construction at the University of Texas at El Paso is set to begin.
Monday, university and Texas Dept. of Transportation leaders highlighted their efforts to make students' commute a bit easier, pointing to the expansion of Spur 1966 and the impending widening of Sun Bowl Dr. from two lanes to four.
"It'll help the traffic flow considerably," said UTEP President Diana Natalicio, "not only for us every day on campus, but for when people come for special events in the Sun Bowl."
Leaders also pointed to the inner campus pedestrian-friendly transformation project, which is seeing contributions upwards of $18 million from TxDOT and the U.T. Board of Regents.
