KDBC — You are invited to participate in the I-10 College Coalition Blood Drive.
It's happening on the UTEP and NMSU campuses and this year, the United Blood Services will dedicate their week long blood drive to Jesse Valdez's memory.
Jesse died last week when he lost control of his motorcycle on I-10, causing him to hit a guardrail. The impact of the crash caused him to fly off the bike. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
United Blood Services Officials say Jesse started working with them straight out of high school and had been there the last 12 years.
Monday, September 9, kicks off the I-10 College Coalition Blood Drive.
This is in part because of the Battle of I-10 this weekend when UTEP will face off against NMSU on the gridiron.
If you want to donated on the UTEP campus, you can do so starting at 9 a.m. at the Student Union Building.
Over at NMSU, you can donate starting at 10 a.m. outside the Corbett Center.
Both campuses will work together to collect 1,400 pints this year breaking the record of 1,330 pints last year.
