ORIGINAL: A suspected drunk driver allegedly killed a 20-year-old woman in Northeast El Paso.
Police said a 22-year-old driver was behind the wheel of a Dodge Ram when he lost control and hit the concrete barrier on Loop 375 and Railroad just before 3 a.m. Saturday.
The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn.
A 20-year-old woman from Anthony, Texas was ejected from the truck and died at the scene.
Paramedics took the driver and three other passengers to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police have charged the driver with intoxicated manslaughter.
"Definitely, speed does appear to be a factor on it, as does alcohol which again is a reason that the driver is being charged with intoxicated manslaughter," said Javier Sambrano with El Paso Police Department.
This is the 31st traffic death this year.
Police have not yet released the names of the people involved.
Three of the four survivors, including the driver, are Fort Bliss soldiers.
Fort Bliss Spokesperson MAJ Joe Buccino released a statement that said, "Our thoughts and concerns are with the victim's family, soldiers and all involved in this accident."
