Doña Ana County — The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office will host the statewide 2013 New Mexico Sheriff’s Association Conference and Training August 20-23 in Las Cruces.
The event provides valuable teaching opportunities and continuing education to uniformed deputies throughout New Mexico. Industry professionals will also have the opportunity to showcase the latest technology advances in law enforcement equipment, supplies and gear between training sessions at the conference.
At 6 p.m. on August 21, all conference registrants and members of the public are invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Law Enforcement Cook-off at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, located at 4100 Dripping Springs Road. Both uniformed personnel and civilian employees of the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office will compete against other agencies across New Mexico to flex their culinary muscle in six different categories: appetizer, side dish, main dish, dessert, wild game and salsa.
Members of the public are also invited to the cook-off. Attendees can enjoy samples from more than 35 booths for a $15 entry fee, payable at the door.
