Venice Beach, CA — A peaceful Saturday evening turned tragic when a car tore through the Venice Beach Boardwalk during one of the busiest times of the week.
The crash happened Saturday afternoon.
One woman was killed.
Her husband told police they were on their honeymoon.
12 other people were also hurt.
The alleged driver, Nathan Campbell, 38, turned himself in after first fleeing the scene on foot.
Police say Campbell drove onto the boardwalk intentionally and was trying to hit as many people as possible.
Campbell is being held on a $1 million bond.
He's been charged with murder.
