Hatch, NM (KDBC) — Doña Ana County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man accused of shooting and killing a teenage boy.
It happened Saturday night at a house party in Hatch, New Mexico.
According to deputies, the suspect, identified as Efren Rey, 27, showed up at the party but was not allowed inside because he had problems some of the people who were there.
According to deputies, Rey started arguing with the victim then reportedly fired a gun into the air, then fired another shot that hit the victim in the head.
The 17-year-old boy died on the way to a Las Cruces Hospital.
Police have not identified the victim.
Rey is now wanted for murder.
