LAS CRUCES, NM — The Las Cruces Police Department will conduct a safety and weapons qualification course for retired law enforcement officers from southern New Mexico.
The course begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Las Cruces Police Department’s Training Academy. Live-fire qualifications will be conducted the same day at the Butterfield firing range.
The four-hour HR-218 course, which allows retired law enforcement officers to maintain qualifications under New Mexico State Statutes, includes classroom instruction and field training.
Retired law enforcement officers residing in southern New Mexico who are interested in maintaining their New Mexico qualifications should register for the course in advance. For more information, or to register for the course, call the Training Academy at (575) 541-2766.
