El Paso, TX (KDBC) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has secured a contractor so they can get rid of the mold in the downtown jail facility. County commissioners will go over the issue on Monday, Sheriff Richard Wiles told us.
Deputies found the mold back in May in the jail's basement. Accompany will get rid of the mold within 14 days working 24 hours. They will clean four floors at a time, which requires some shuffling at the jail.
"We’re going to be moving the federal prisoners out of the downtown facility to free up the floors because they're going to do four floors at a time. And hopefully we'll be back on track within two weeks,” Sheriff Richard Wiles said.
Wiles said they have a plan in place to move the inmates.
