Doña Ana County Sheriff's investigators have arrested the man accused of shooting a 21-year-old Las Cruces man early Friday morning, after a short run following a series of break-ins on East Mesa.
Corey Lee Willis, 21 was reportedly with his girlfriend, Mariam Pimentel, 20 Saturday, when a homeowner discovered them hiding in a residence in Doña Ana County. Willis and Pimentel allegedly ran from the home. Deputies caught up with Pimentel, but Willis allegedly broke into two more homes in the area in an attempt to hide.
Willis was previously identified in a photo lineup by Vicente Hernandez, Jr., 21 who Willis allegedly shot Friday.
Both Willis and Pimentel remain behind bars.
